The Session of Leesburg Presbyterian Church consists of the Pastor and the elected Elders in active service.  The Session is responsible for the mission and government of Leesburg Presbyterian.   It therefore has the responsibility and power to provide spiritual, moral and organizational leadership over the affairs and activities of LPC, except for those specifically accorded by the Book of Order to the Pastor, congregation, or higher governing body within the PCUSA.

The office of Deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ.   It is the duty of deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith.    (Book of Order G-6.0401/6.0402)
